Un poco de historia...

Aprovecho mi primer post en este blog para presentaros un servicio que posiblemente no conozcais.
 Hace ya unos años (1998), fui el promotor de una innovadora idea de recibir SMS con los resultados del Athletic directamente en el movil. Se llamó Bakalao Movil 1.0. Este servicio duró mientras las operadoras permitían el envío de SMS gratis via email. A los pocos años las operadoras de móvil cerraron el grifo y el servicio entró en hibernación...
Ahora, y gracias al Google Calendar, este servicio renace de sus cenizas.
Antes de nada, confirmaros de que se trata de un servicio gratuito 100%. Está basado en la cooperación desinteresada de dos administradores, servidor de ustedes y Merhos Jurjur.

Repito, es 100% gratis.

Funciona de la siguiente manera:
A principio de la temporada, metemos todos los partidos en el fin de semana como eventos de día completo.
Cuando se sepa qué día es un partido, lo cambiaremos y lo pondremos en su día y hora. Recibireis un mensaje de aviso con esa información.
Al acabar el partido, actualizaremos de nuevo el evento y recibireis otro SMS más con el resultado.
Así de fácil!

Si ya eres usuario de Google Calendars

Procedimiento A
- Pinchando en el icono de Google, que aparece en la esquina inferior derecha del calendario de este blog
- Seguid las instrucciones

Procedimiento alternativo B
- Acceder a http://calendar.google.com/
- Identificarse como usuario, si no te ha reconocido automaticamente
- Bajo "Otros calendarios", pinchar en "Añadir", y luego en "Añadir por URL"
- En URL, poneis (copiapegando) "http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/m3561o18k2pan82a66utjo6if4%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics"

- Da igual si lo haceis público o no. Pinchad en Añadir calendario.

- Ahora ya sale el nombre del calendario Athletic en la lista de abajo a la derecha.

Configuracion de SMS
- Pinchar en el triangulito al lado del nombre del calendario y en "Notificaciones"
- Pinchar en "Configurar telefono movil para notificaciones"
- Introducir tu numero y pinchar en Enviar Verificacion
- Introducir numero que haya llegado a tu movil, y pinchar en Finalizar Configuracion
- Ahora volvemos a seleccionar "Notificaciones" del calendario Athletic, deseleccionamos "Correo electronico" y SELECCIONAMOS SMS para Nuevos, Cambios y Cancelados.
- Guardar Cambios

Si no sois usuarios de Google calendar

Procedimiento
- Acceder a http://calendar.google.com/
- Registrarse como usuario, con tu mail habitual (no hace falta crear email nuevo de gmail ni nada por el estilo)
- Confirmar el usuario leyendo el mail que te mande google y pinchando en su link de confirmacion.
- Acceder a la pagina normal del calendario
- Bajo "Otros calendarios", pinchar en "Añadir", y luego en "Añadir por URL"
- En URL, poneis (copiapegando) "http://www.google.com/calendar/ical/m3561o18k2pan82a66utjo6if4%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics"

- Da igual si lo haceis público o no. Pinchad en Añadir calendario.

- Ahora ya sale el nombre del calendario Athletic en la lista de abajo a la derecha.

And now, in English

I have been for some time administrator of a free service that I have found useful in the past. I have created an unofficial Google calendar with all the games of Athletic on it. It basically serves two purposes.

1. It is updated with the actual time of the games when they are known. Before that, games are one-day events, but when times are announced, I modify them to begin at the actual time.

2. Events are updated again straight after the match with the result.

The clever bit is that Google sends updates of calendars in the form of FREE SMS´s to the mobile phones of the users that have subscribed to my calendar. This way, you will never miss a game or a result, wherever you are. Within 10 seconds of the end of each game, a message arrives to your mobile phone with the result.

How to set up the calendar:

Firstly, you need to be a Google registered user. This does not mean you need a "Gmail" account, it will work with any email address.

Go to the Google home page, click on "Sign in" (top right), then on "Register". Give as many details as you want, just ensure the email address you give is correct. Google will send you a confirmation email to it, just click on the link and you are verified.

Secondly, go to http://calendar.google.com/ and click on Setup (top right). Introduce your information, ie time zone etc, and then on the "Mobile Phone Setup" tab. Enter your mobile phone number, Google will send a code to your mobile phone. Just enter in on this page and click on "Finish setup".

Thirdly, to import my Athletic calendar, from the main calendar screen, click on Add Calendar on the left hand side menu. Choose "Add from URL" and copy-paste the following:

Then, you need to setup how you want to be receiving the messages. Go to the main screen, click on Setup / Calendars / Notifications (for Athletic Club Calendar).

The first part of this screen is how long before the beginning of the game you want to receive a reminder. My recommendation is 30 minutes by SMS.

Then, tick under SMS for new, changes and cancellations. Dont tick the last option.
